R1a is originally either from Central Asia or the Iranian Plateau. Even R1a* type to which I do belong is much older than the most modern subclades of R1a in Eastern Europe. My R1a* is ANCESTRAL to the European R1a and not vice versa. The R1a* haplogroup to which I do belong is not from Euriope.

Semites, Semitic peoples or Semitic cultures was a term for an ethnic, cultural or racial group. The terminology is now largely obsolete outside the grouping "Semitic languages" in linguistics. First used in the s by members of the Göttingen School of History, this Biblical terminology for race was derived from Shem (Hebrew: שם ‎), one of the three sons of Noah in the Book of Genesis.

Some of Europe’s earliest traces of civilization are found in modern Greece along the Aegean sea. During the Bronze Age, two prominent archaeological cultures emerged in the Aegean.

The culture of the island of Crete, sometimes referred to as ‘Minoan’, was Europe’s first literate civilization, and has been described as ‘Europe’s first major experience of civilization’. [ ]. Footnotes. History of Freethought, 2nd ed. i, 46, 48, 49, 53,Dr. Jevons does not hesitate to assert (p. ) that the resemblances between the Babylonian and the Hebrew cosmological myths are "due to the human reason, which in different places working on the same material comes to similar inferences"—an untenable position.

Both refer the primitive seats of population to the Euphratean region of Western Asia. Both terminate the antediluvian age with a great diluvial catastrophe.

These are sufficient points of general agreement to make it probable that both originated in one fundamental history, or at least were based on attempts to describe the same events. "A discovery made in Egypt in has revolutionised all our old conceptions of ancient oriental life and history, and has proved that the populations of Western Asia in the age of Moses ["Moses" "15th—13th century BC" ["Abraham" "c.

The Old Testament history is almost exclusively occupied with Semitic tribes. Babylonians, Assyrians, Canaanites, Hebrews, Aramaeans—all these, however much they might war among themselves, were bound by close linguistic and other ties, bespeaking a common origin in the dim. The Assyrian power did not revive until the reign of Assur-dân II, whose son, Rimmon-nirari II (b.c.

), and great-grandson, Assur-natsir-pal (b.c. ), led their desolating armies through Western Asia, and made the name of Assyria once more terrible to the nations around them. This act shocked the religious conscience of western Asia, and Sennacherib was subsequently assassinated.

His successor hastened to rebuild the city. With the recovery of Babylonian independence under Nabopolassar (reigned the Neo-Babylonian Empire BCE) a new era of architectural activity set in, and his son Nebuchadrezzar II (reign The following pages deal with the religion of Ancient Palestine, more particularly in the latter half of the Second Millennium, B.C.

“The gazelle or antelope was a mythological animal in Babylonia so far as it represented Ea, who is entitled ‘the princely gazelle ’ and ‘the gazelle who gives the earth.’But this animal was also appropriated to Mul-lil, the god of Nippur, who was specially called the ‘gazelle god.’.

Bayesian phylogenetic methods, originally developed for biology, have been increasingly -and successfully- applied to linguistic data in recent years (e.g., for Indo-Europeans, Melanesians, and Austronesian speakers from the Pacific). The religions of primitive peoples mostly centre on, or take their rise from, rites and practices connected with the burial of the dead. The earliest people inhabiting Celtic territory in the West of Europe of whom we have any distinct knowledge are a race without name or known history, but by their sepulchral monuments, of which so many still exist, we can learn a great deal about them.

The name of Damascus first appeared in the geographical list of Thutmose III as T-m-ś-q in the 15th century BC.[4] The etymology of the ancient name "T-m-ś-q" is uncertain, but it is suspected to be pre-Semitic(Sony VAIO VGN-FW11 battery).
